A “Summer Wind” Breezes in as MHBA Modular Home of the Month for March 2016

ORTLEY BEACH, N.J. – The Modular Home Builders Association (MHBA) proudly announces the March 2016 Modular Home of the Month. The Summer Wind, a custom modular home, was built for Hurricane Sandy victims after they suffered the devastating loss of their home. Today Ortley Beach is slowly coming back to life.

VWV Construction Inc. of Ortley Beach, NJ worked with Durabuilt Homes, LLC of Pennsylvania to design this custom two-family modular home. The family wanted a home that resembled a single-family home while meeting all the needs for two families. The Summer Wind opens up to a large foyer that includes access to the first floor unit, a door to the ground level, and stairs up to the second unit. The stairwell is wide with a peek-a-boo window and vinyl wainscoting on the walls. Each unit has an identical floor plan, featuring 3 bedrooms and 1.5 baths. The half bath also serves as a laundry room and utility room, which houses the on-demand hot water heater (one per unit).

The open floor plan allows more space for the families to gather including a large kitchen with an oversized granite-topped island with seating, dining area, and living room. Each family has rear access to a large deck featuring all vinyl with azek and fiberglass. The families upgraded their space with tile flooring throughout, granite countertops, under cabinet lighting, tile baths and recessed lighting.

The Modular Home of the Month showcase is an opportunity for MHBA member companies to display their projects to architects, engineers, contractors, developers, owners, students, and more. MHBA selects one home each month to be featured on social media and our website. They will also receive a badge to include on the company website to showcase the home as a Modular Home of the Month winner.
